As more healthcare services and businesses continue to establish their presence at the Milford Wellness Village, the innovative medical facility is catching the attention of Delaware officials and leading healthcare professionals. Recently Delaware Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long visited the Milford Wellness Village and had the opportunity to learn about the forward thinking, patient-centered campus model that has become a one-stop shop for value-based community health.
The Milford Wellness Village owner, CEO Meir Gelley, and the management team hosted the Lieutenant Governor, along with Milford Mayor Arthur Campbell and several other local officials. Lt. Gov. Hall-Long met with several business and medical providers, which she has worked with throughout her medical and public service career.
“We are always thrilled when officials and healthcare professionals want to see and learn about the great things we are developing at the Milford Wellness Village,” said Gelley. “The repurposing of the facility has been a partnership with the city of Milford since inception and we have always been very encouraged by local and regional support.”
The tour included a stop at Milford Wellness Village’s newest service provider, Banyan Treatment Centers. Banyan provides compassionate and informed treatment for individuals seeking to make life-altering changes to the road of recovery. The group also visited La Red Health Center, Aquacare Physical Therapy, Nurses n’ Kids, and the heart of the village – Polaris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
“I am so impressed with the work at the Milford Wellness Village,” said Lt. Governor Hall-Long. “It really is a village concept with a wraparound service. It is addressing the needs and services for kids and seniors.
The Lt. Governor continued, “I cannot wait until the whole community is here, in and out of the facility. It serves as a wonderful national model.”
Many more businesses are planning to open their doors soon at the 266,000-square-foot campus. This includes, Kidz Ink Academy, a day care center with an added dimension of socialization and learning for their child; PACE Your LIFE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly), a full-service clinical laboratory; and the Village Café’ that will be open to all of Milford.
“We continue to meet the needs of the Milford community and we look forward to expanding our services any way that we can,” said Gelley. “We want the community to know our doors are open and we are welcoming everyone to see firsthand the caring environments we provide throughout the village.
